Why Illinois? – What factors helped contribute to your decision to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign?
I have wanted to go to the University of Illinois since before I can even remember. I grew up here, in Champaign, so it was always my dream to go to the U of I. That aside, UIUC is an amazing institute for research, and science degrees in general, so it had everything I was looking for.
Why NRES? Specifically, why did you choose to study Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences?I have always loved being outdoors, and have always been passionate about science, so NRES is the perfect way to incorporate both. It has a great combination of lab and science courses, as well as hands-on, research and field experience; all of which is exactly what I was looking for. I came in as Undeclared as a freshman, and later that year learned about NRES. The second I heard about it, I knew it was exactly what I wanted to major in.
