Why Illinois? – What factors helped contribute to your decision to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign?
When I visited the University of Illinois, I knew that this was the right campus for me. I wanted to be at a campus with a great academic support system that would give me opportunities outside the classroom. Also, I wanted to be able to challenge myself academically, participate in various clubs, and grow as a person over these four years and to me, the University of Illinois seemed like the right choice.
Why NRES? – Specifically, why did you choose to study Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences?
Ever since I was a kid, I have always loved exploring and being outside. So when coming to college and deciding on a major, I knew that NRES was the choice for me. I wanted to have a career where I could have a positive impact on the environment and actually see that I was making a difference in the world. What I love most about the major are the field courses which give you environmental field experience while still in college.
