The NRES Online M.S. program is an exceptionally cost-effective way to enhance your career potential.
The online graduate program tuition is charged per credit hour. The course cost for 2017-2018 is $675 per credit hour ($625/hour tuition plus $50/hour OCE fee). This rate is the same, regardless of whether or not you are an Illinois or U.S. resident. At the current rate, the tuition for the degree would cost approximately $21,600 (though students should anticipate modest tuition increases each year).
Students can find information on how to apply for financial aid through the Office of Student Financial Aid. You will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (the University's Federal School Code is 001775). Students must be admitted as degree-seeking in order to be eligible. There are no assistantships or tuition waivers available for the online graduate program.
Online graduate students are eligible to apply for the departmental scholarships available to all NRES graduate students. Eligible students receive an email with application instructions early in the spring semester each year.
The deadlines for getting a refund of tuition and fees after cancelling your registration, withdrawing from the University, or dropping a course are very strictly enforced. The deadline for cancelling your registration is 5:00 pm the last business day before the first day of classes for the semester. The deadlines for a refund when withdrawing or dropping a course are a few days into the semester (10 days for a standard 16 week semester; fewer for shorter courses). The deadlines vary from semester to semester, so be sure to check with the Registrar for the deadlines in the relevant semester. If the course you are considering dropping is not a standard 16 week course, check the Student Refund Reference Guide to estimate the amount of refund you might receive.
