NRES Fund for Excellence

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences is able to fulfill its commitment to the land grant mission, in part, with gifts to the NRES Fund for Excellence. Gifts to the fund allow department leadership to solve the most pressing needs each year by applying gifts toward the greatest needs. The most common uses of the fund include supplementing the department scholarship and fellowship offerings, enhancing our Extension presence, facility and equipment updates, student study abroad experiences, and individual travel requests for professional conferences at the regional and national level.

O'Hara-Brawn Study Abroad Scholarship Fund

The O’Hara-Brawn Study Abroad Scholarship Fund was established by Professor and former Department Head Jeff Brawn to provide study abroad opportunities for students in NRES such as the group study abroad experience in Tanzania or individual study abroad opportunities such as Clare's semester in Ecuador. These hands-on, real world experiences are often life changing for the students and help round out their education while informing the types of careers they wish to pursue.
