Why Illinois? – What factors helped contribute to your decision to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign?

Illinois is perfectly as close to home as I would want it to be while still giving me the experience of living on my own independently in the perfect college town. It offered me a great education with many opportunities I knew I wouldn’t find anywhere else.

The community is rich in history and pride, and stepping out on campus makes you feel at home. It’s everything I could have asked for.

Why NRES? – Specifically, why did you choose to study Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences?

My entire life I have always been fascinated by the world around me, and the benefits the earth has to offer us. My interests in ecology and conservation have led me to pursue it as an education.

I chose NRES because it offers many different tracks and career paths within the field of study that both guide me and allow me to choose exactly what I want to do with my time and education.

Since joining the program, I couldn’t be happier with this decision.
