Online Graduate Admissions
The Department of NRES provides an interdisciplinary graduate education. Consequently, students who succeed in our programs come from a variety of backgrounds.
NRES test
Through the NRES Online MS program I gained a great background in ecology that helped position myself for a new career in ecological design. The variety of course topics available helped me to develop a broad understanding of ecological concepts but also encouraged me to focus on topics I found most interesting. The flexibility of the program allowed me to take it at my own pace while working full-time.
Water Quality & Biogeochemistry
NRES faculty study how nutrients and chemicals are transported from agricultural fields to surface waters; their fate and impacts on streams; and ways to minimize this transport, both in-field and
Sustainable Agriculture & Agroecology
NRES faculty apply ecological theory and systems analysis to understand and manage farming, food, and bioenergy systems to produce needed basic, environmental, social, and economic services.
Soil Science & Conservation
Even though robust, the soil resource often is degraded by poor management.
Restoration Ecology
Faculty and students in NRES are studying restored ecosystems to understand the process of ecosystem recovery and the implications for environmental practice and policy.
