I chose the University of Illinois because of the wide range of opportunities on campus. From research to extracurriculars, there are so many ways to get involved in whatever you are passionate about.
This allows students to find their community by connecting to others with similar interests.
Why NRES? Specifically, why did you choose to study Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences?
I chose NRES because I have always had a passion for nature and the environment. I want to understand what is happening to our climate through research and a scientific approach and find ways to mitigate harmful effects.
NRES at Illinois has such a wide variety of classes and opportunities that it gives me the flexibility to explore multiple areas within environmental science. I believe NRES will equip me with the skills and knowledge to become an environmental scientist.
